“That’s what I’m planning to do to Ellen and Finn, divide them. And once I’ve managed to prise them apart, Finn will be exactly where I want him to be.”
I absolutely love B.A. Paris’s books, so when Macmillan sent me an early reader’s edition of her upcoming novel, Bring Me Back, I was SO happy (Thank you, Jessica!). It’s always fun to get a sneak peak at a new book, but it’s even more fun when you love the author’s work so much that you literally can.not.wait until the pub date to read it. Bring Me Back comes out in June, and it is the same kind of thriller that we’ve come to know and love from B.A. Paris. This novel’s premise is that a young woman—Layla—goes missing while she and her boyfriend are stopped at a service station during their drive through France. Her boyfriend, Finn, has no idea what could have happened to her, but he does know that he has some secrets to keep if he wants to be cleared of fault in the investigation. Years go by and Finn is engaged to his former girlfriend’s sister (super weird, I know), but strange things start to happen that lead Finn to believe that Layla might still be alive after all these years. Throughout the novel, Finn wonders whether he’s going crazy, whether someone is playing a sick joke on him, or whether Layla really is alive after all. B.A. Paris is B-A-C-K with this dark, twisted, page-turner.
Bring Me Back was just what I wanted it to be. B.A. Paris has a way of writing a thriller like no other. Jaw-dropping moments and an intensity that will have you on the edge of your seat make Paris’s latest novel a great one! In my opinion, it will be hard for her to get better than The Break Down (I just loved that book), but this one was on par with all of her books—engaging, suspenseful, and filled with things you don’t see coming. Highly recommend! [[ RATING: 4 out of 5 Stars ]]
