"She didn't know how to be semi-interested in something.  She was either indifferent...or obsessed. "

Not letting go of the Valentine vibes, so I’ve got a sweet love combo for you today with a sexy romance novel and a sweatshirt that you will just fall in love with!  A sweatshirt...which you might be thinking is the opposite of sexy, but like really who wants to be wearing anything else right now?  Plus the XOXO is just too cute and  makes it pair so great with this book.

Book - The Kiss Quotient by Helen Hoang

This is a love story fan account now.  Why did it take me so long to get into this genre??  It’s so great!  So many relationships to get lost in, to indulge in, and to secretly wonder if people really do that??  Like some of this stuff??? I need a tutor!  Here’s my review of The Kiss Quotient, which does NOT lack in the sexy department, even if it does subtly have a math theme.

Stella + Michael = LOVE.  So many heart eyes for this one!  It’s about Stella Lane, who likes everything just so and rarely deviates from her carefully planned daily routine.  That is, until she decides to step out of her comfort zone, hiring an escort to teach her how to do everything intimate that she’s avoided or faked for so many years.  Enter Michael, the handsome for-hire man who has perfected the art of the hookup through all his paid Friday night gigs.  Stella has high hopes that Michael will teach her everything she needs to know with no strings attached, so when she falls head over heels for him, it was certainly not in her plan, and it comes as a surprise to them both.

There is so so much to love about this sweet novel.  I loved the chemistry between Stella and Michael (like, I love them), and the sweet, serendipitous way that everything falls into place for both of them.  It’s a feel-good love story with just the right amount of steaminess, imo.  I also love that Helen Hoang chose to write a main character (Stella) with Asperger’s (or high-functioning Autism), and that she (Hoang) shared her connection to the spectrum and provided a lot of background info, research, and further reading in her author’s note.  Representation matters, and I think this book is an outstanding example of inclusion.  I read that it might be in the works to become a movie, and I am so here for that!  It’s my favorite of my Valentine stack so far, but I keep saying that about every book sooooo.  Have you been reading any love stories lately?  I’m checking a lot of romance-y books off my list, and I typically don’t gravitate toward them, but I’m thinking maybe I should!?!  Loved every page. RATING: 4 out of 5

Look - Sweatshirt - Little Piece of Chic, Chic Shop; Jeans - One Teaspoon (mine are old, but I linked similar); Shoes - Golden Goose

Speaking of things to love, this sweatshirt from the Chic Shop is my new fave, and it is the softest thing ever on the inside.  I know people say that about every sweatshirt, but I’m not kidding this time!!  Anyway, the Chic Shop comes to us from Julia Buschow, creator and blogger over at Little Piece of Chic.  I’ve followed Julia for a long time, and now she has merch!  Get some!  Especially if you like themed outfits or tops for special occasions--this shop has you covered!  This definitely won’t be my last purchase from this lovely little shop.  And follow Juila @littlepieceofchic for the cutest, affordable outfit inspo, always!  I paired this sweatshirt with some super-distressed jeans that I *don’t* think are skinny jeans but maybe they still are??? I’m progressing!  Love a good front tuck with a hoodie, and I think this combo worked well.  The shoes are my GG faves, and just so everyone knows these were a splurge gift to myself, okay??  I don’t just go around wearing $$$ sneaks.  These are precious, and I gotta keep ‘em clean.  Also gotta look at price per wear, as my friend Emily says, so they practically pay for themselves!

Thanks for reading!  Time is such a gift, so thanks for spending it with me for a bit!  I’d love to hear what you thought of this book if you’ve read it, and this look if you’ve shopped it or are thinking about it!  Leave me a comment or send me a message on IG @thetrendyreader!

Happy Reading!
